Talakaveri

Perched at an altitude of about 1,276 metres in the Brahmagiri Hills near Bhagamandala, Talakaveri is revered as the sacred origin of the River Kaveri. A small spring emerges from the Brahma Kundike (Tirtha Kundike), where a tank has been built for pilgrims to take a holy dip on auspicious days. Deeply sacred to Hindus—especially the Kodavas, the native clan of Coorg—the site carries immense spiritual significance. From here, the waters flow underground before resurfacing near Bhagamandala to join the Kannike and Sujyoti rivers at the revered Triveni Sangama.
